EMERGENCY INFO- For Emergency please contact at the phone number on the top of your rental agreement make sure you have your rental agreement inside the car at anytime, this might be required by local authorities.

GAS
Fuel Options- With the same level of gasoline the vehicle is received, the same level must be returned. There are no refunds for excess gasoline.
- If the vehicle is returned with less gasoline, than received, the following amounts will be charged:
- Mini economy to intermediate vehicles, $120 pesos, for each octave.
- Full size, Suvs or jeeps, $180 pesos, for each octave.
- Mini vans, vans or luxury vehicles, $200 pesos, for each octave.
GEOGRAPHIC
Geographical Limitations- Rented vehicles may be driven anywhere in Mexico. If the rented vehicle is to be driven outside of Mexico, it must be with a written legal authorization, from AMERICA CAR RENTAL, to enter and exit each country. There is no charge for miles, mileage is unlimited. Permits to enter and exit another country: AMERICA CAR RENTAL furnishes the necessary documentation for the rented vehicle to enter and exit a neighboring country. If only to enter and exit Belize, there is no charge. To enter and exit Guatemala, through Belize or Mexico, the guatemala government requires an original notarized affidavit, that costs 150 USD, and requires 24 to 48 hours to process. Notary and government offices do not work Saturdays, Sundays or holidays. If the client arrives after 12 noon, on a Friday, the processing will begin on Monday( or Tuesday if monday is a holiday). The permit will be availaqble, at the rental office, the next day. Some clients pay for this affidavit, some do not, the decisión is always up to the client. The charge to enter and exit another country, after Guatemala,is 50 USD, for each country to enter and exit. Clients must purchase, at least, PLI insurance coverage, at each of the borders of the country they are entering. In case of an accident, the contracted insurance company of each country wll render service. Each item or service must be requested, when booking the reservation AMERICA CAR RENTAL can not, and does not sell any car insurance coverage for another country.

INSURANCE
INSURANCE TYPES- CDW Collision Damage Waiver: This coverage reduces the responsibility of the customer of the total commercial value of the rented vehicle to a deductible according to the type/class of the selected vehicle; in case of an accident, fire or theft the terms and conditions of the rental agreement that were signed on the day of the rental are applicable. (If the driver of the rented vehicle is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including prescription drugs, this coverage will not apply) .In case of partial theft, vandalism or damage to parts and/or accessories this coverage does not apply. The cost of this CDW waiver coverage is $9.99 USD, for cars, and $14.99 USD, for Vans or luxury cars.
- EPC Extended Protection coverage or Zero Deductible (EPC includes CDW and LDW): This coverage eliminates all responsibility for the rented vehicle, in case of an accident, fire or total theft. The terms and conditions that were signed on the day of the rental, are applicable. (If the driver of the rented vehicle is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including prescription drugs, this coverage will not not apply). Legal assistance is available, if required. The cost of this EPC waiver coverage is $ 24.99 USD per day for cars, and 29.99 USD per day, for Vans or luxury vehicles.
- TGI Tires and Glass Coverage Waiver: This coverage eliminates the the responsibility of renter for damages to the wheels, tires, rims, hub caps or glass, of the rented vehicle. Terms and conditions that were signed on the day of the rental, are applicable. (If the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including prescription drugs, this coverage will not apply). The cost of this TGI waiver coverage is $9.99 USD per day for cars and $14.99 USD per day for Vans or luxury cars.
- PAI Personal accident insurance: This coverage is for the authorized number of occupants of the rented vehicle and in case of an accident. the coverage will cover ambulance, doctors and hospital expenses. The cost of this PAI insurance coverage is $4.99 USD per day for cars, and$ 6.99 USD per day for Vans and luxury cars..
- SRA Solicited Road Assistance: This coverage provides the client with road assistance of the rented vehicle during the rental terms (jump start service, changing of flat or damaged tires, locksmiths, gasoline delivery (does not include the cost of the gasoline ). Restrictions apply, please ask for more information at our counter. The cost of this SRA coverage is $2.99 USD per day, for cars, and $4.99 USD per day for Vans and luxury cars.
- LDW Protection reduction of Collision damages (LDW includes CDW): This coverage reduces the responsibility of the customer to 50% of the deductible amount according to the type of vehicle that is rented. In case of an accident or total theft. The terms and conditions that weresigned on the day of the rental are applicable. (If the driver of the rented vehicle is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including prescription drugs, this coverage willl not apply). In case of partial theft, vandalism or damages to parts or accessories, this coverage willl not apply. The cost of this LDW waiver coverage is $14.99 USD per day, for cars, and $19.99 USD per day, for Vans or luxury cars.
- SLI Supplementary extended civil liability: is a required coverage, according to article 83, of the Mexican transportation regulation. Unless the person renting the vehicle , can provide written proof from their insurance company or credit institution in which the insurance coverage to third persons and to property is valid in Mexico and is stipulated that current policy is in effect and should any claims arise that the coverages are , payable to the car rental company listed on the rental agreement , for any and all damages to their vehicles and that legal assistance is required; also covering all of the cost associated in order to recuperate the vehicle during the rental period. If the proof is not provided to be valid and verifaiable or this insurance coverage will be required. The cost of this SLI insurance coverage is listed on the rental agreement.
- If the person renting the vehicle declines the SLI insurance coverage and has provided the written proof of valid coverage in Mexico, they will be required to leave a deposit as a guarantee in the amount of $ 5,000.00 USD for cars, and $ 7,000.00 USD, for Vans or luxury cars.
ONE WAY
Drop Charge- This additional charge, that is independent of the total quote of the reservation or rental contract, will vary, depending on the distances between cities. The amount will be stipulated on the confirmation of the reservation, that is e mailed to the client.
PAYMENT
Payment- Cash deposits are not accepted.

RESERVATIONS
Guarantee- E-Z Rent-A-Car does not accept pre-payment for confirmed reservations for non-prepaid transaction, and you are not committed to make the associated rental. Therefore, these type of reservations are not intended to provide you with any legal or contractual right to compel E-Z Rent-A-Car, or any related affiliate, to establish a rental contract and/or transaction. Likewise, these type of reservations do not compel you to establish a rental contract with E-Z Rent-A-Car, nor will you receive any penalty or charge if this transaction does not occur.
RULES
Modifications- We hold the ability to change these posted policies and procedures at any time.
- In case of one day rentals only, to pick up in Cancun and drop off at playa del Carmen, or visa versa, the additional charge is 20 USD. If it is for the Akumal – Tulum areas, the additional charge is 30 USD.
- The minimum age for the title holder, or authorized additional drivers, is 21 years. There is no restriction on maximum age.
- The minimum age is 21 years of age. There is no limit for maximum age.
- Present an original and current drivers license, with photograph.
- The titleholder of the rental, or the authorized additional driver, must present his/her current, original driver’s license, from the country of residence. We reserve the right to verify and accept the drivers licenses, according to the established norms by America Car Rental, and negate the rental, in case of any omision or non compliance.
- An official identification, current and with photograph IFE (for Mexicans) or, passport, current, with photograph, from the country of residence.
- As payment for the rental of the vehicle, Credit or Debit Cards are accepted,(Amex, Visa, Discovery, Or MasterCard) traveler’s checks, Mexican pesos, US Dollars or Euros. Personal checks or travel vouchers are not accepted. We reserve the right to accept, or not, if the Credit or Debit Card is from a special promotion, in bad shape or is illegible.
- America Car Rental, reserves the right to decline the reservation or the rental of the vehicle, if the client does not cover satisfactorily the necessary requirements to carry out the commercial transaction.
- The rate for each additional driver is 5 USD, per day. Maximum 2 additional drivers are allowed.
- The title holder of the rental contract, and the authorized additional drivers, must present their current drivers licenses, with photograph.
- AMERICA CAR RENTAL accepts driver’s licenses from any country, or international, as long as they have not expired.
TAXES/FEES
Disclaimer- Only those taxes and fees which appear in the estimated total of the reservation and/or the rental agreement are applicable for a specific location. The base rate of the rental is guaranteed for the dates and times of the reservation, but taxes and fees may be changed by a governing authority prior to arrival at the rental counter. Any changes to the taxes and/or fees will be shown on the rental agreement at the opening of the rental agreement. Adding additional optional charges such as upgrades, GPS rentals, etc. at the rental counter may effect the amounts of the applicable taxes and fees.
